Gorilla Watching in Congo
Mark and Michael are back from Nouabale-Ndoki National Park in northern Congo. Here are some pictures they brought back from their adventure. They both agreed this was really worth the effort. They were lucky enough to see gorillas and elephants and to spend time at the WCS research station at the National Park headquarters. The link is WCS if anyone is interested in more information on this organization which operates in several African countries as well as running zoos in the U.S. Above they are pictured with their Pygmy trackers, and pictures taken from the viewing station and in the forest.

catieMrs Eastham--
An entertaining pleasure to view your photos and comments.
'Big Al' ( bet he has not been called that in eons) and I go way Way WAY back in nostaliga---
as he might have shared----
back to the days of KDDA, Dumas and gosh golly gee the early---real early before ya'll got hitched---early 70's---
Post Hendrix ( the school not the guitar player) and pre-State Department.
Surely you recall the scrawny LOUD un-couth red-headed co-worker he most definitely sought to improve professionally and associated with socially; within parameters...
no longer scawny...couth is so over-rated---still LOUD---red hair has given way to brown, black and a preponderous of grey----and I must admit 'Al' had mixed results contouring my attitude and mybehavior.... I assure you he tried-valiantly.
Fond memories-nothing but fond memories--- despite T.O. and his beverage propensity--Bozo the gimpy-legged German Shepherd---Wolff Brothers dictating to us when their spots would run and their awkward 83 seconds post ARN Newstime slot...Bro. George and the Unicorn Song...and at one time Al's fondness for 'Please Come To Boston'.
I am proud to boast, on occasion, I knew ya'll when.
Applause Applause on your posting.
Sincerely;
Dan Rogers

Mark and Michael will have interesting papers for the "What did you do on your winter break?" assignments! Great photos. I surely enjoy your blog.
Wow. Those are quite amazing!
I sort of stumbled across your blog while link-surfing. I'm an expat currently living in Korea, and my S.O. is a former FS brat (whose father was actually assigned to the Congo not once, but twice). I like your blog, and I was wondering if you would mind if I added you to my blogroll?
Glad you like the photos the boys took. I will put up some more. Kelsey, please do add me to your blogroll. Interesting to learn about connections...
